What AI Actions do
An AI Action is a tool the AI can use during a conversation. When the visitor asks for something the action handles, the AI collects the details it needs and runs the action. Examples:
- Book an estimate or appointment on your calendar
- Check available times
- Look up an order or booking status
- Create a support ticket or CRM contact
- Trigger any automation in Make, Zapier or n8n
Create an action
- Open your bot and click AI Actions, then add a new action.
- Describe it: tell the AI when to use it, like briefing a new employee. "Use this when a visitor wants to book an estimate."
- List the details it collects: name, phone, zip, preferred time. The AI asks for anything missing.
- Connect it: paste a Make, Zapier or n8n webhook URL, or call an API directly.
- Test it with the Test button and check the run log.
Example: book an estimate
"Book estimate visit" collects name, phone, zip code and a preferred time, sends them to Make, and Make creates the event on your calendar and texts you. The bot confirms in the chat: You're booked for Tuesday at 10 AM.
Using actions in flows
AI Actions run inside AI conversations. In a flow, they're available in AI Assistant blocks. You can let a block use all of the bot's actions, only selected ones, or none.
Copy actions between bots
Use Copy from another bot on the AI Actions page to reuse an action you've already built.
Keep it safe
- Only connect endpoints you control.
- Never put passwords or private keys in the action description.
- Check the run log when something doesn't fire.
